How to install a trusted Fabric mod in Minecraft Java Edition.

Check the source

Only download mods from trusted sources. Verify the mod author and version.

Install Fabric

Download the Fabric Loader from fabricmc.net.

Find your mods folder

Windows: press Win + R and enter %appdata%\.minecraft\mods.

Place the JAR

Move a verified, compatible mod .jar into the mods folder. Don't extract it.

Launch Minecraft

Select your Fabric profile in the Minecraft Launcher and start the game.
